【Conference Travel Grant】Application Notice for Graduate Student Travel Subsidy to Domestic and International Academic Conferences – Psychology Department [Submission Deadline: May 12]
Dear Students,
The Department of Psychology offers travel subsidies for graduate students attending domestic or international academic conferences. Applications are accepted twice a year. Please take note of the following details:
1. Eligibility:
-
Graduate students from our department who are listed authors of a research presentation at a domestic or international academic conference.
-
Each applicant is eligible for funding once per year. Priority is given to first authors or presenters.
-
For international conferences, applicants must first apply for funding from MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology), MOE (Ministry of Education), the university, or other organizations, and submit proof of application. (Be mindful of deadlines — most agencies require submissions 1–2 months before the conference.)
-
This subsidy is funded by the university’s graduate student scholarship program, and students holding full-time positions (on or off campus) are not eligible.
2. Funding Scope:
-
Both domestic and international conferences: registration and transportation fees are eligible for reimbursement.
-
If other funding sources provide partial support (and allow additional funding), the department will only cover the remaining amount, up to the maximum limit.
-
The final subsidy amount is determined by the Curriculum Committee.
3. Application Procedure:
-
Applications are accepted twice a year: in May and September.
-
For this round, please submit your application and supporting documents by May 12. The department office will compile and forward them to the Curriculum Committee.
-
The committee will announce results within one month after the deadline.
-
Applications must be submitted before the conference or by the nearest deadline after attending.
-
The applicant must be officially registered as a graduate student at the time of the conference and when claiming the subsidy.
4. Reimbursement Procedure:
-
Within one month after approval or the conclusion of the conference, submit the following to the department office for reimbursement:
-
Approved application form
-
Copies of actual expense receipts
-
A list of other funding sources and final amounts received
-
A conference participation report
-
-
Reimbursement is based on actual expenses, and cannot exceed the total expense minus other funding received.
Due to additional agenda items and next semester’s course scheduling, the Curriculum Committee will meet earlier than usual. Please prepare your documents in advance and adhere to the submission deadline.
Thank you for your active participation. We look forward to your academic contributions!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the department office.
Application guidelines and forms are available on the department homepage → Downloads → [PhD Program] or [Master’s Program]
