演講摘要
The global population is anticipated to reach around 11 billion by the year 2100. The ageing demographic (aged 60 and above) is forecasted to surpass the number of children by 2047, an unprecedented scenario. Instances of age-related conditions such as dementia are expected to escalate to 115 million worldwide by 2050. The projected cost of managing dementia is also set to rise from $604 billion in 2010 to $1,117 billion by 2030. Concurrently, advancements in medical expertise, evidence-based policy formulation, and service provision are progressively shaping the definitive framework for comprehensive long-term care to accommodate these shifts. Technological progressions, particularly in computational science and biomedical engineering, promise an expansion of our capacity to model and simulate a myriad of intricate issues that have hitherto confounded conventional medical practices. Numerical techniques and simulation hold promise for furnishing enhanced clinically pertinent predictive insights, facilitating optimisation, and enabling more judicious resource allocation for devising treatment protocols, conducting risk assessments, and urgently addressing the management of long-term care systems for various brain disorders. Within this context, the significance of exploring the correlation between cerebrospinal fluid transport and dementia in the elderly underscores the cerebral milieu as a subject ripe for investigation through numerical and computational modelling.-

周鼎贏博士目前服務於國立成功大學生物醫學工程系,校內合聘於敏求運算學院及半導體學院,於校外除合聘於國家高速電腦中心外,亦是漢民科技股份有限公司之科技顧問。其主持的生醫力學實驗室主要致力於探索工程及醫學之間的重要議題,該團隊主要技術乃以演算法開發與超大型高效能計算(Ultra High Performance Computation, UHPC)模擬實現為核心,採交叉整合跨領域發展並透過超大型高效能計算為產業界做最全方位的服務,如:能源與熱流、衛星推進與散熱、造船與海洋工程、醫學影像與人工智慧、數位孿生與機器學習、光健康醫療...等。
